About CFBTime

A weekly answer to "what should I actually watch this weekend?"

College football has more good games on a given Saturday than any one person can watch, spread across a dozen networks and streaming apps you may or may not have. CFBTime looks at the week's full schedule and tells you which games are actually worth your time — and, just as importantly, which of those you can actually watch given the channels and streaming services you have.

How picks are made

Every game gets scored on things that make a game worth watching:

Every window of the week (Thursday night, Friday night, and the four Saturday time slots) gets its own Primary pick — the single highest-scoring game you can actually watch — plus a few Flip to alternates if the primary game gets out of hand. Games that scored well but aren't on a channel or service you have show up under Worth following, so you at least know they're happening.

Upset alerts

Sometimes a game we didn't recommend — because the pregame spread made it look like a blowout — turns into a real game. If you opt in under Settings, CFBTime can send you a push notification when a team you follow is in a game that was a significant pregame underdog (or favorite) and is still within a few points in the second quarter or later. You won't get alerted about your own Primary pick, since you're presumably already watching that one.

Where the data comes from

Schedules, TV/streaming outlets, rankings, and betting lines all come from CollegeFootballData.com, a free, community-run college football data project. CFBTime isn't affiliated with the NCAA, any conference, or any broadcaster — it's just a personal project built by someone who was tired of guessing which game to turn on.
